Sticky Traps

Sticky Traps

Monitoring - Mass trapping

Sticky traps are an essential, chemical-free solution for monitoring and controlling flying pests in your garden or greenhouse. Different pests are attracted to specific visual wavelengths, meaning color choice is critical for effective management.

Beyond pest identification, these weather-resistant traps provide an immediate line of defense, reducing breeding populations without exposing your plants to toxic sprays.

Traps can come as flat cards or as a Sticky roll (typically 15cm or 30 cm wide and 100m long) to be hung in the crop. Flat cards are generally stocked all year and rolls can be arranged by pre -order.

Yellow Traps

Yellow traps excel at capturing fungus gnats, whiteflies, psyllids, aphids and Thrips.

Symptoms and signs of mealybugs include:

  • Stunting and distortion of the leaves and flowers

  • Yellowing and wilting of leaves

  • Honey dew and sooty mould present on the plants

  • Mealbugs visible on the stem, leaves and flower buds

Blue Traps

Blue sticky traps are your most powerful defense against thrips, a notoriously destructive pest attracted specifically to the blue light spectrum. Because most beneficial insects are naturally drawn to yellow instead, using blue traps minimizes the risk of accidentally catching harmless pollinators or predators.

Deploying blue traps in your growing area allows you to detect thrips infestations early, break their breeding cycles, and protect sensitive crops like peppers, berries, and ornamental flowers without relying on chemical pesticides.

Red Traps

Red sticky traps are a highly specific, niche tool used primarily to intercept pests that ignore standard yellow or blue variations. The distinctive red wavelength is exceptionally attractive to leafhoppers, gall midges, vinegar flies and passion vine hoppers.
